What are you actually paying to get paid?

Don't judge your payments by one advertised rate. Processing, per-transaction charges, software and hardware all add up. We'll help you see the whole picture, and whether traditional pricing or a compliant dual-pricing program makes sense for you.

The question we hear most

Is dual pricing legal? Yes.

Dual pricing means showing two prices, one for cash and one for card, so the customers who choose to pay by card cover the card cost instead of you.

Done the right way, it's allowed here in Tennessee. The key is being upfront, so customers see both prices before they pay. Chris sets it up so it's clear, compliant and easy for your customers to understand.

Done the right way
  • Both prices shown clearly, before anyone pays
  • Receipts that follow card brand rules
  • Set up and checked by Chris, so you stay compliant

When something goes wrong, who do you call?

Payments are easy when everything works. The real difference shows up when it doesn't. NeighborlyPay gives you somebody who knows your business, knows your setup, and can get the right people involved.

"What if your payments guy actually knew your name?"

Good technology matters. Having someone you can reach matters more than most businesses realize, right up until they need it.

Short, honest answers to what business owners ask most. For your exact situation, Chris is a call, text or quick note away.

Am I paying too much?

Probably. Most businesses pay more than they need to. Sometimes it's a little, sometimes it's a lot, and your statement tells the real story. Send it over for a free review and you'll see what you pay today right next to what you could be paying. No pressure, no strings.

Square, Clover or Shift4 Dine?

Each one is great at something different:

  • Square is the easiest to start. Simple flat-rate pricing and clean hardware make it a great fit for cafés, shops, salons and pop-ups. As sales grow, a flat rate can cost more than it needs to.
  • Clover is the most flexible. A full family of devices and a big app marketplace suit retail, quick-service and service businesses. What you pay depends on who sets it up, which is where we come in.
  • Shift4 Dine is built for full-service restaurants and bars, with tableside ordering, kitchen displays, online ordering and $0 upfront. Qualifying restaurants that switch can get a $5,000 bonus.

The best one is the one that fits how you run your day. Chris will tell you honestly, even if that's the system you already have.

Is there a contract?

Usually, no. Most of our solutions come with no long-term contract, so you can cancel anytime. That's on purpose: if we're not taking care of you, we don't deserve your business. You should stay because it's working, not because you're stuck.

A few platforms, like Shift4 Dine, do come with a multi-year agreement. If that's the case for you, Chris will tell you upfront, before anything is signed.

Ask Chris about your options
Should I accept ACH?

If you send invoices for a few hundred dollars or more, yes. ACH moves money straight from your customer's bank account to yours, and it typically costs far less than a card payment, so the savings grow with every big ticket. It's ideal for large jobs, recurring billing and customers who pay by check today.

It pairs perfectly with dual pricing. Your invoice shows a card price and a bank-payment price: customers who'd rather save choose ACH, and customers who want to use a card still can. Either way, you keep more of what you earn, and Chris sets it up so it stays compliant.

Will switching shut my business down?

Not a chance. We make switching painless, and your business stays front and center the whole time:

  • Go-live is planned around your schedule, often after close or on a slow day
  • Your items, menu or customer list come with you wherever the system allows
  • Everything is set up and tested before your first sale
  • Your team gets trained, and Chris is a call or text away on day one
  • We help you close out your old provider so nothing falls through the cracks

Do I have to buy or lease equipment?

Most of the time, your equipment is free. And we never put anyone in an equipment lease. Those long, expensive leases are one of the industry habits we're here to fix.

Whether you qualify for free equipment depends on your business and setup, so reach out and Chris will tell you exactly what you'd get.

See if you qualify for free equipment
Can I keep the software I already use?

Often, yes, but it depends on the software. Sometimes your system stays exactly as it is and only the payment processing behind it changes. Most of the POS options we offer also connect with tools you may already use, like QuickBooks, online ordering and scheduling apps.

Some software only works with its own built-in processor. If that's yours, Chris will lay out your choices plainly: keep it as is, or move to something that does more for less. Either way, compatibility gets checked before you change anything.

Need to borrow something?

That's what neighbors are for. Got a confusing processing statement? A contract you're about to sign? A question about a POS you're eyeing? Ask. It's free, there's no sales pitch, and it's fine if you never switch.

About Chris

Local isn't a marketing strategy. It's home.

I'm Chris Fischer, founder of NeighborlyPay. I live in Hendersonville with my wife and daughter. The businesses I work with aren't just accounts to me. They're the restaurants we eat at, the shops we stop into, and the owners I run into around town.

I started NeighborlyPay because the payments industry has earned its reputation: confusing pricing, endless sales pitches, 800 numbers, and reps who are everywhere until the paperwork is signed, then nowhere when something goes wrong.

I wanted to do it differently.

There isn't one "best" payment system for every business, so I work with several. My job is to understand how your business actually runs, find the right fit, explain it without the jargon, and be there when you need help.

You'll find me at Hendersonville Area Chamber of Commerce and Leadership Sumner events, because I like being part of the business community here. I want NeighborlyPay to grow the way the best local businesses do: through relationships, reputation, and taking care of people. It's also why, through Helping Together, 10% of what I earn from every account goes to a local cause the business owner chooses.

I'm not trying to be your payment processor. I want to be your payments guy.

Someone local. Someone you trust. Someone who answers the phone. That's why I called it NeighborlyPay.

  • Local.I live here.
  • Independent.I find the right fit.
  • Available.I stick around after the sale.

Know a business owner who's fed up with their payments? I'd be grateful for the introduction. Send them my way
