Square is free to start. Some features cost extra.
The Square Point of Sale app is free, and many businesses never need more. Some tools, like the Square Kiosk ordering app and advanced restaurant or retail features, need a paid monthly plan. Also, Square's monthly payment plans for hardware aren't offered to businesses in Tennessee, so devices are paid for up front here.
